About Spotlight Theatre Company

Our mission is to encourage, support and promote outstanding musical theatre experiences for local performers and audiences at a cost that is affordable to the community.

To Achieve This

*

We provide persons of all ages and capabilities with an opportunity to develop their talent both on stage and off, by providing education, training, guidance and experience to help foster and encourage an appreciation and knowledge of the performing arts.

*

We reach out to various community groups -- students, the elderly, the disabled, etc. to attend and be part of our cast membership, stimulating public awareness and interest in the value of theatre by presenting opportunities for the appreciation of local artistic achievements.

*

We strive to present theatrical performances that are as affordable as possible to our community, offering discounts to groups, seniors and children.

Everyone is welcomed to participate in our productions.  No individual will be refused admission, membership or participatory involvement based on race, color, creed, physical disability, sex, sexual orientation, marital status or national origin.

Membership

We currently have a membership of people ages six through sixty from areas such as Westchester and Putnam counties.  Our commitment to the communities we serve, to audiences and to our members will be to provide outstanding quality performances and leadership.  We believe our continued commitment in teaching the various disciplines mentioned to our members and to sustain a goal of excellence is consistent with this fundamental strategy.

History

Spotlight Theatre Company was founded by current directors, Pat Concilio and John T Leonard, at the Holy Spirit Church in Cortlandt Manor in 1996.  Godspell was the first show, with Nunsense following in June of 1997 and Anything Goes in September of 1997.  Due to artistic and space limitations at the church, in February of 1998 the Company relocated to the Tom Thumb Pre School in Mohegan Lake performing for the past ten years.  Over the past four years we've performed at The Uriah Hill School in Peekskill, The Schoolhouse Theater in Croton Falls, and The Harvey School in Katonah.  We stand by our commitment of offering our community the best in Broadway musicals and affordable prices.

See our recent productions in the past production page.  The company also provides free "Cabaret Night Under the Stars" performances for the community every summer at the Mahopac Marina.
